The Journey Begins Again

The payload for the next space shuttle flight rolled out to the pad last night. It will take almost everyone at the Launch Pad all day to transfer all of the payload components into the tower structure. It is an extremely slow and tedious process. As of last night the shuttle stack is supposed to begin it's journey to the pad at 12:01 am on Thursday. This was supposed to be the last flight off of Pad B and that the pad would undergo modifications to get it ready for the new program. However, with the addition of the Hubble servicing mission, that might not be true anymore. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the next few months.

This is a picture of the payload canister from the last mission. It is basically the same thing as a shuttle payload bay. I didn't have a camera last night to get a picture the one that is there now.
