Tis The Season

We finished all of our Christmas cards today. Finally. It wouldn't be that big a deal I guess if we hadn't started doing them last night. We are up to 41 or so this year. Not a huge number, but a decent amount of work. The hardest part really, was getting the newsletter thing just right. We can be kind of "particular" about things like that. Probably too particular, but I say why fight it. Go with your natural instinct.

That same instinct comes out when I put up the lights outside. Luckily, I remembered some of last years lighting debacle. Last year I hung the same strand of lights on the garage about 4 times. There was always a better way to do it and I just had to have it that way. This year wasn't as bad, but only because I got it right the first time. Also for the first time the bushes out front got some lights. We bought boxes and boxes of lights after Christmas last year so I had plenty of lights to work with. I wanted to make the front of the house really gaudy this year since we weren't going to put up the tree. I couldn't go through with it though, I guess I was all talk.

Due to space issues this year we didn't put up the tree. There is just to much to move. The bird cage doesn't fit anywhere else and now we would have to find a different spot for Virgil the tortoise. There are also small stuffed Boyds Bears ornaments all over our tree. Small dogs love that kind of ornament. They love them to the point where they become a spity, matted, mangled lump of stuffing and almost chewed off eyeballs. That is a horrific sight that we just didn't need this year. Hopefully next year we will be decorating the new house.
