Here It Comes

The space shuttle stack is on its way to the launch pad at this very moment. I hope we are ready. Pad A hasn't launched a shuttle since Colombia back in February 2003. It will be different for me this time. Since we are at the other pad I'm not in charge of the shop that I am in. I'm still getting used to letting someone else take care of making sure everything is coordinated. Trying to go back to being a regular tech is harder than I thought it would be. I see so many things that I know need to be done that I just want to go and do them. Normally I am used to being so busy during a flow that it is hard to wait for a job to be assigned to me. However, I have to keep reminding myself that if the situation was reversed I would not want some else telling me things that I already know about or generally doing my job for me. Believe it or not, doing less is harder for me than running around trying to do twelve things at once. It's a little twisted.

Here is a picture that I took last night on my way home from work. Some of the VAB doors were open to allow the crawler transporter to move into position under the stack.
